Lorna's Tough Mudder Run
Story
At the end of 2022 I was diagnosed with stage 3 bowel cancer. Following surgery, chemotherapy and recovery time I am currently one-year clear of any cancer and feeling incredibly lucky to have had a wonderful support system behind me - everyone from the medical team, to my family, friends, and colleagues. They are all amazing!
My own research into cancer made me realise that there is so much more to be discovered about this disease and with the statistic that 50% of us (that's right - HALF of us!) will get cancer during our life time I believe it is important to help fund research into new treatments and diagnostics that will hopefully reduce suffering and save lives.
So what better way to do that than by signing up to an obstacle race when I HATE running? I love an obstacle but I despise running and I'm currently the least fit I have ever been in my life - it's not going to be easy! But Doing it for Cancer Research gives me that extra bit of motivation and I would appreciate your support.
